Matthew 26:41 (NIV) Jesus says, "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the body is weak."
I was reading an article from Rick Warren (the author of The Purpose Driven Life), he mentioned about the above verse and how we should protect ourselves from temptation. The above is telling us that we don’t put ourselves in a situation where we can be tempted. Friends, it is not an issue of are you going to give in or not, but rather, if you don’t want to get stung, stay away from the bees.
1 Peter 5:8 (LB) says, "Be careful, watch out for the attacks from Satan your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion looking for some victim to tear apart." The devil is always waiting to destroy us.
Let’s not allow the devil to get a hold of us. Like what Mat 26:41, let’s watch and pray so that you will not fell into the temptation….
James 1:12 (NAB): "Blessed is the man who perseveres in temptation, for when he has been proved he will receive the crown of life that He promised to those who love Him."
